Why Thirtyish?

In 2018, instead of failing at my resolutions like I did every year, I set out a new goal every month for the year. I wrote them in a notebook and checked in every once in awhile. Some of them I accomplished, some I failed at miserably, but hey, I tried something new. I wanted to do things that were important to me, and how I wanted to live my life. Giving up smoking, drinking more water, and spending time with friends were all things I’d written down for 2018. Spoiler: I have a soda problem, and drinking a gallon water a day ain’t easy.

For 2019 I took it a step further, and started this blog as a way to track my year, and be accountable. Even if only 3 people ever read this, maybe that’s three people who want to write their own 12 goals for a better year, and that’s a wonderful thing!
